I played Half Sword demo and it was very fun but also very hard. It is a medieval fight simulator, with historical weapons and armours, but with physics based control by mouse. In other words the muse controls the sword movement allowing you to do all kinds of weird moves and also you can grab your enemies, like in any other physics game. The result is satisfying when well executed and hilariously fun when not. Good game for some laugh that desperately needs co-op
Half Sword is a raw, radical experience that doesn't prioritize beautiful graphics, but rather combat based on pure, hard physics. With its medieval atmosphere, half swords, thrusting blows, impacts and consequences that depend on inertia, positioning, body weight, and the force used, it's experimental but very engaging because it's so raw and unapologetic. It's innovative, in my opinion, and deserves to be followed very closely.
Half Sword’s been bubbling along in demos and early tests for a while now, and the realistic physics‑based medieval combat with clumsy, brutal hits has grabbed a lot of attention even if it still feels rough and unpredictable, so most chatter I’ve seen isn’t about hype or complaints but just people waiting to see whether the final early access release early next year actually lands as something worth sticking with.
