Commandos 2 HD Remaster is a World War II-themed real-time tactics game developed by Yippee! Entertainment and Pyro Studios take control of an elite group of commandos venturing deep into enemy territory. Utilize their combined expertise to complete a series of notoriously demanding missions set during World War II, do you have what it takes to turn the tide of war?

• Steal enemy uniforms and weapons, climb poles, swing from cables, swim, utilize vehicles, and climb in and out of buildings, ships, and planes.
• Take control of nine unique commandos, each with different skills and specializations like the green beret, sniper, demolition expert, diver, seductress, etc.
• With the modern 3D engine, rotate the environment 360 degrees, move seamlessly in and out of buildings, planes, submarines, and underwater.
• The way you complete each mission is up to you; experiment with skills and weapons in a challenging “against the odds” gameplay style.

Yet, this still isn’t enough to justify the game’s current situation, and hopefully, in time, “Commandos 2 – HD Remaster” will become what it was meant to be. If you are interested in this game, do keep an eye on it as there is still a chance that things could get better.

Commandos 2: HD Remaster graphically upgrades a beloved tactical classic and gives a fresh coat of paint to a fairly obtuse set of controls. While it is shipping with a few bugs, all of the pieces that made this game a classic are present and accounted for. With just a little more polish, we’ll be able to “Consider it done, boss”.

That said, if you’re a fan of the series, you want to support the HD Remaster, but at the same time, it’s had a rough go out of the gates that might give you pause. I’d recommend keeping an eye on this one and seeing what develops, but RTS fans should make it a point to play this series if they haven’t yet.
