After Gears of War E-Day, Game Pass doubles down on wave 1 with Battlefield 6
Microsoft revealed a packed wave 1 lineup for Xbox Game Pass in October. Following Gears of War E-Day, Battlefield 6 and Valor Mortis lead the charge.
Key Takeaways
- Microsoft announced nine upcoming titles for Xbox Game Pass in October 2026, joining recent arrivals like Gears of War: E-Day, totaling to 12 titles for wave 1.
- Three games arrive on October 8: day-one releases Echo Weaver and Forever Ago, plus the console launch of Neon Abyss 2.
- High-profile additions later in the month include Battlefield 6 and soulslike action title Valor Mortis on October 13.
Microsoft has officially revealed the first wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in October and there’s a lot to look forward to. Nine games are part of the announcement, with Echo Weaver, Forever Ago, and Neon Abyss 2 joining the catalog today, the latter arriving alongside its console launch.
The lineup also has Battlefield 6 and Valor Mortis on the way making this a pretty loaded first half of the month. Not to mention, Gears of War E-Day also joined the service 2 days ago.
Xbox Game Pass October 2026 Joining Titles
The first three games are available today, October 8, with day-one launches Echo Weaver and Forever Ago joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, while Neon Abyss 2, which is making its console debut too, is also available to Game Pass Premium members.
As we move through the first half of the month, Microsoft has some banger titles in this lineup like Valor Mortis, a first-person action soulslike that everyone is excited about, and Battlefield 6, which was a treat to many. While this isn’t a day-one launch, the game will unfortunately not join the Premium tier just yet. Nevertheless, this should get a fresh wave of new players in the game.
The remaining games in the nine-title announcement include Deep Dish Dungeon, Bluey’s Happy Snaps, Chained Beasts, and Beyond These Stars which are all day-one launches.
Before today, three games had already joined Game Pass this month including Valiant Hearts: Coming Home via the Ubisoft+ classic catalog, Keeper, and Gears of War: E-Day, which would be the biggest addition for October. At this rate, we don’t really need a shadowdrop anymore because this lineup makes the monthly fee already worth it. And we’re only in the first half.
