Update May 14 – Game Pass May 2024 wave 2 has officially been revealed and it is AWESOME! Of course we already have the much-awaited Hellblade 2 but also coming up are EA Sports NHL 24, Immortals of Aveum, and Lords of the Fallen. In total, there are nine games that are part of wave 2. Also announced are 2 games leaving for June with one as day-one addition. Considering that there are still two weeks to go before the month ends, it wouldn’t be a surprise if there are more games added to this list.

Update May 13 – Another day-one launch for Game Pass this month has been revealed! Galacticare will join Hauntii on May 23 as they both enter service, making it two day-one additions on the same day. More titles are expected to be announced in the next day or two for the official Wave 2 lineup for Game Pass May 2024.

Original Publication – We have officially entered May 2024 so that means a new set of free games on Game Pass!

Last month was an incredible one for subscribers with a lot of day-one launches, several EA Sports titles, and even a last minute addition of The Rewinder which was announced at the latest ID at Xbox event.



As for this month, the first wave has been announced but much like previous months, it doesn’t mean the list is final. If you look back at April, the month started off with 9 titles which ballooned to 23 by the end! Hopefully, we get to see that kind of number again for May.


Game Pass Free Games May 2024


The confirmed list includes the first wave with 4 titles (so far) and also 3 games already announced for the second wave.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PC, Console, Cloud)



Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is a 2014 action-adventure game which is the reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise and serves as an origin story for Lara Croft. The story follows Lara’s journey as she shipwrecks on the island of Yamatai, a mysterious island off the coast of Japan. Lara must fight for survival against the island’s hostile wildlife and inhabitants.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition comes into Game Pass on May 2, 2024. It joins Shadow of the Tomb Raider which was added earlier in April.



Kona 2: Brume (PC, Console, Cloud)



Kona 2 Brume is the sequel to the adventure game Kona and takes place in Northern Quebec, 1970. It follows private detective Carl Faubert as he investigates a mysterious mist called the Brume that has engulfed a rural mining village. You will need to use your detective skills to gather clues, interview suspects, and piece together the truth behind the Brume.

This immersive first-person narrative game joins Game Pass on May 7, 2024.



Little Kitty, Big City (PC, Console, Cloud)



Little Kitty, Big City is a new indie adventure game where you play as a curious kitty who gets lost in a big city. Your main goal is to find your way home but there’s also a whole city to explore first. You can go around at your own pace and interact with other animals. There are also opportunities to solve puzzles and befriend other strays.

The game is the first day-one addition this month so you can start playing it for free on May 9, 2024.



Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (PC, Console, Cloud)



Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is an emotional adventure game where two brothers go on a journey to find the mythical “Water of Life” to save their ailing father. The narrative unfolds without dialogue, relying on visuals and music to convey the emotions and motivations of the characters.

This award-winning game enters Game Pass on May 14, 2024.



Chants of Sennaar (PC, Console, Cloud)



Chants of Sennaar is inspired by the myth of the Tower of Babel, where you play as a traveler who must translate between various different tribes that don’t understand each other. The gameplay mostly revolves around solving puzzles and minigames to translate fictional languages, but it also features stealth gameplay.

Play it for free on Game Pass starting May 15, 2024.



EA Sports NHL 24 (Cloud via EA Play)



NHL 24 is the latest installment in the NHL video game series and introduces new features that dial up the pressure, physicality, and control of authentic on-ice action. One of the most notable ones is the Exhaust Engine which simulates the fatigue of players during a game. Also expect returning modes like Be a Pro, Franchise mode, and the Ultimate Team.

NHL 24 is now accessible via Xbox Cloud Gaming through EA Play on May 16, 2024.



Immortals of Aveum (PC, Series X|S, Cloud via EA Play)



Immortals of Aveum is a first-person shooter game set in a world called Aveum which is on the brink of destruction due to a magical conflict known as the Everwar. You will play as Jak, a new recruit to the Aegis, who must fight to protect Aveum. The game is fast-paced and action-packed and also features a number of RPG elements like character customization and skill trees.

Immortals of Aveum is also entering Game Pass via EA Play on May 16, 2024.



Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 (PC, Series X|S, Cloud)



Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is an action-adventure sequel that picks up where the first game left off, following Senua on a new journey through Viking Iceland. Prepare to go deeper into her psychosis and the challenges she faces as she confronts her inner demons and Norse mythology.

Expect intense combat sequences as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 makes its way to Game Pass on release day May 21, 2024.



Hauntii (PC, Console, Cloud)



Hauntii is an indie adventure game where you play as Hauntii who is a curious ghost exploring the mysterious world of Eternity. As a ghost, you possess the unique ability to haunt creatures and manipulate the environment to solve puzzles and clear obstacles. The game combines classic shooting elements with a more relaxed pace, allowing you to explore the beautiful landscapes at your own speed.

Hauntii is another day-one addition to Game Pass. Catch it on May 23, 2024.



Galacticare (PC, Xbox Series X|S)



Galacticare is a sci-fi hospital management game where you play as the manager of a space hospital, designing and building your facility, researching new medical treatments, and curing strange alien diseases. The game features a quirky and humorous story mode and a sandbox mode that allows you to build your dream hospital.

Galacticare is the second day-one addition to Game Pass on this day. Play it for free with your Game Pass subscription on May 23, 2024.



Moving Out 2 (PC, Console, Cloud)



Moving Out 2 is a wacky physics-based moving simulator sequel where you play as a Furniture Arrangement & Relocation Technician (F.A.R.T.) for the moving company Smooth Moves. Your job is to move objects from one location to another within a time limit, and with as minimal damage as possible to both the objects and the surrounding environment. Solo and co-op play are supported, both local and online.

Moving Out 2 enters Game Pass on May 28, 2024.



Humanity (PC, Console, Cloud)



Humanity is a crowd-commanding puzzle game where you play as Shiba Inu who can issue commands to the human masses including jumping, turning, pushing, floating, shooting, and climbing. You strategically use these commands to guide the crowd through obstacles, enemies, puzzles, and even boss battles across 90 story mode stages.

The game is scheduled to release on May 30, 2024 and is announced to enter Game Pass on day-one.



Lords of the Fallen (PC, Series X|S, Cloud)



Lords of the Fallen is an action RPG where you play as Harkyn, a criminal who is given a chance to redeem himself by slaying the demon god Adyr. The game features challenging combat, a dark and gothic atmosphere, and a variety of weapons and armor to collect.

The game is scheduled to join Game Pass on May 30, 2024 and marks the second game to enter the service on this day.
