Syberia is the iconic graphic adventure series created by Benoît Sokal. The first chapter was released in 2002 as a new installment to the famous Amerzone from 1999. In Syberia, we follow the adventures of lawyer Kate Walker through a journey in Eastern Europe in the 20th century.

Microids officially announces Syberia Remastered
With a surprise announcement on May 18th, 2025, publisher Microids announces the fantastic news of a Remaster of the first Syberia. The first chapter of the beloved graphic adventure series created by Belgian comic artist Benoît Sokal. Expected to release in Q4 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Remaster that comes more than 20 years later since the game’s release in 2002, and about 4 years after Sokal’s passing in 2021 during the development of The World Before. Exciting news for fans of the series, who can rediscover Kate’s journey with a modernized graphic look, improved puzzles, and various other enhancements to the experience.

Syberia Remastered: Features and New Additions
A piece of news that certainly surprised the fans of the series. With an announcement coming less than a month after the launch of the Remastered Amerzone – The Explorer’s Legacy, which happened on April 24, 2025. This version of the first Syberia offers:
- Memorable Story: We will follow Kate through a journey in the mysterious and fascinating world at the edges of Russia. An adventure as thrilling as a deep personal discovery.
- Faithful Overhaul: The game receives a modernized 3D graphic look, following Sokal’s artistic style.
- Improvements: The experience will come with an intuitive interface and navigation, along with improved puzzles, without altering the original experience.
A remaster in development by the Microids Studio Paris team, behind the Amerzone Remastered, and the Virtuallyz Studio team. Expected to launch around late 2025, with the game already available for adding to your Steam and Playstation Wishlist.
