SONY RAISES THE PRICES OF PLAYSTATION GAMES ON STEAM

Sony has raised the prices of PlayStation games in multiple regions on Steam, representing the increasing costs of developing and producing games.

The price increases on Steam come after Sony announced that PlayStation 5 sales had surpassed PlayStation 4 sales when comparing the first 29 months.

PlayStation Game Price Increases on Steam by Region:

• Argentina: From 4199-5999 Pesos up to 8499-9999 Pesos
• Chile: From 32000-39500 CLP up to 35000-42000 CLP
• China: From 279-379 RMB up to 345-414 RMB
• Colombia: From 159000-194000 Pesos up to 184000-219000 Pesos
• Japan: From 4900-6490 Yen up to 6490-7590 Yen
• South Korea: From 45880-58800 Won up to 52800-62800 Won

In Canada, PlayStation game prices have increased up to 17%, Japan has seen an increase of up to 32%, and Argentina has the most considerable price increase of 67% on games like Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.

As the cost of living increases and the cost of making and publishing games increases, we will likely see prices rise, and unfortunately, this may only be the start.
