Square Enix told fans last month that they’d be bringing the beloved Star Ocean RPGs to PC. Now, Star Ocean The Last Hope has launched on Steam as a Full HD and 4K Remaster.

The Last Hope is technically the franchise’s fifth entry, however it serves as a prequel to the first game that launched way back in 1996. This makes it the perfect game to start off the series on PC. The game also released a launch trailer to give fans a glimpse of how beautiful the game’s updated visuals are.

The game brings you to the start of the Star Ocean story, where Earth has been decimated by World War III and humanity has been forced to look for a new planet to call home. You’ll be exploring the galaxy, meeting friends and enemies among the various alien races you encounter.

Another highlight of the game is that it features real-time battles as opposed to traditional turn-based battles on other JRPGs. Couple this with the gorgeous new textures and you’ve got some of the most engaging battles ahead of you.

Star Ocean The Last Hope 4K & Full HD Remaster is out today on Steam. The remaster is also available for PS4, but there is no word as to whether it will make its way to the Xbox One.
