Konami’s Silent Hill is one of the most beloved horror franchises in gaming, and Silent Hill 2 is considered the best in the series. And now you can preorder its remake from several online stores.
The original Silent Hill 2 released way back in September 2001. To this day it remains one of the most highly-regarded horror games ever.
Last year, Konami announced a remake but stopped short of revealing a release date. But recently, the game has become available to preorder online in stores like GameStop and Best Buy.
The Best Buy game description even suggested the return of Pyramid Head and a “special origin story for fans to play through.” However, Best Buy has since changed it after Konami said it was incorrect.

None of the stores reveal a release date. But, the fact it’s now available to preorder suggests that its release is close.
But there’s more! The Silent Hill 2 Steam page has been updated to reflect its tags, language subtitles, and Steam Achievements.
Nothing official is coming from Konami about a potential Silent Hill 2 release date. That said, the fact it’s now available to preorder suggests that its launch day is close. We may see it by the end of 2024.

I’m pretty hopeful about this remake, as it looks amazing on videos. Frankly, I expected the game to be released this year, but if it requires more polishing it will be indeed more wise to wait until 2024. Silent Hill 2 is, without a shadow of doubt, is one of iconic horror games, and it will be exciting to replay it with better graphics and gameplay!
