There’s a lot more movement in the Xbox world than initially anticipated. First we had the Microsoft reward points, then the Game Pass restructuring, then a massive game drop for Game Pass tiers, and then now, the arrival of ROG Xbox Ally X to some French buyers.
ROG Xbox Ally X Arrives Early For Some French Gamers
ROG Xbox Ally X is meant to officially launch on October 16th. While that is still the plan, Amazon France accidentally delivered some units two weeks ahead of schedule. As can be imagined, the lucky gamers who were able to get their hands on the handheld this early were pleasantly surprised. So surprised that they posted it on the official ROGAllyX subreddit which many were quick to jump into.
The first post was eventually deleted, followed by a few others. It’s unclear why they were taken down, but some posts are still live for people to see.

Redditor hmika59 posted a picture of the handheld straight out of the box (which sports both ROG and Xbox logo and colors) and another IAm-WilliAm- posted his still in the box. Apart from reviews which we’ll also get into briefly, most people asked if a charger is included. According to hmika59, it doesn’t but also says that maybe it depends on the region.
As for the review, hmika59 shared quite an extensive “Quick Review” which you can see in full here. But basically, the fundamentals are right. Ergonomics are nice even saying it feels more like an Xbox controller rather than a handheld, cooling and battery were also great, and the interface was good but can definitely be improved.
Amazon has not issued an official statement regarding the incident but hmika59 shared that he ordered the ROG Xbox Ally X on Amazon after seeing the ‘Deliver in 24H’ in the listing. He wanted to see if it was true and it was…at that time. According to him, upon checking the same listing, it now says delivery date is October 16th.
