These Games Are Already Confirmed For Xbox Game Pass in January 2026
Microsoft has two titles already confirmed to enter Xbox Game Pass in January 2026. Official wave 1 list expected on Jan 6.
Well it was a bummer we didn’t get any surprises for December during The Game Awards 2025 but still, the future looks bright with the January 2026 lineup already starting to get filled in. Two day-one launches are already confirmed to enter the service in the first month of next year.
Xbox Game Pass January 2026 Early Confirmations
Since no more Xbox Game Pass updates are happening until the end of the year, we can now look forward to 2026. As of writing, we now have a few confirmations for next year, 2 of which are arriving in the service in January.
Two different experiences to start off a new year, and while it’s not as high profile as the early confirmations from last year’s, they’re still exciting to look forward to. MIO: Memories In Orbit is a sci-fi Metroidvania game which is quite reminiscent of Hollow Knight’s art. It’s scheduled to launch on January 20 for PC and console. Players can now experience it with the demo available on Steam and Xbox.
The other one is a strategy game with a focus on mass city-building and long-term planning. Nova Roma is set to release on January 22 for PC. Gamers can also play this now with a Steam demo available.
MIO: Memories In Orbit is a visually striking Metroidvania in which you play as MIO, a nimble robot who awakens aboard the Vessel, a vast, decaying spaceship drifting through space and on the brink of shutdown. As you explore this interconnected labyrinth of ruins, rogue machines, and overgrown ecosystems, you’ll uncover the Ark’s lost memories, repair damaged robots, and unravel the mystery behind its failed AI caretakers and your own forgotten past. Master fluid traversal abilities like grappling, gliding, and wall-clinging, battle dozens of enemies and powerful guardian bosses, and customize MIO’s skills through scavenged components.
Nova Roma is a city-building strategy game in which you lead a small band of citizens from a decaying Roman Empire to found and grow a new settlement into a lasting metropolis. Starting from a humble village, you shape the land with dams, aqueducts, and reservoirs, manage resources and trade across vast territories, and balance urban expansion with environmental and societal risks. As your population grows, you must meet complex needs, from bread and wine to games and safety, while guiding citizens into specialized roles and honoring the gods through grand temples to earn their favor and avoid their wrath.
