Industry insider Tez2 says Rockstar Games still plan to release a Red Dead Redemption 2 PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version but no longer plans a GTA IV or Red Dead Redemption 1 remaster.
For months, rumors have circulated around the internet of a Red Dead Redemption 2 PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version.
Back in May, industry insider AccountNGT revealed that a current-gen upgrade of RDR2 will come soon, and that Rockstar plans to release GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption remastered editions.
It seems now, however, that Rockstar no longer wishes to release updated versions of Red Dead Redemption and GTA 4.
There is no confirmation from Rockstar Games either way, but insider Tez2 says the “poor reception of the GTA Trilogy – Definitive Edition might be a reason” as to why they canceled GTA 4 and Red Dead remasters.
Tez2 did manage to reassure those concerned about RDR2 by saying that an “update for PS5 & XBX is planned at some point down the road.”
In the meantime, while we wait for RDR2 on PS5, Rockstar Games continues to work on GTA VI.
