Rainbow Six Siege announces a Metal Gear Solid crossover, teasing Solid Snake as a new operator with a full reveal coming on February 15.

Rainbow Six Siege is back in the headlines and thankfully, nothing like it was last month. No breaches nor bugs, don’t worry. Instead, the latest news surrounding Ubisoft’s tactical shooter is something fans have been wishing for, for ages. Why it didn’t happen sooner, who knows but now it’s here.

Rainbow Six Siege is officially crossing over with Metal Gear Solid, bringing the legendary Solid Snake into the world of operators. It’s a meeting of two stealth-heavy franchises that feels long overdue.

Rainbow Six Siege has had an incredible 10-year journey since launching back in 2015. What began with a modest roster of 20 operators has expanded to over 70, alongside collaborations with several iconic franchises and years of steady updates that introduced new game modes, balance changes, and quality-of-life improvements. The game has continuously evolved, and by next month, it looks set to get even better.

Ubisoft recently teased the crossover between Rainbow Six Siege and Metal Gear Solid in a brief 15-second teaser, confirming Solid Snake as an upcoming operator. Whether a permanent one or temporary, that’s unknown for now.

The clip opens with the instantly recognizable Metal Gear Solid codec sound effect before Splinter Cell’s Sam Fisher (known as Operator Zero in R6 Siege) delivers the line: “Our window is closing. We only get one shot at this.” Then another figure appears and while the character’s face is never shown, the silhouette leaves little room for doubt. It’s Solid Snake.

   

For now, the teaser stops short of revealing gameplay details, abilities, or how deep the collaboration will go. What is confirmed, however, is that a full reveal will take place on February 15 at 8AM PT / 11AM ET / 4PM GMT.

Ubisoft is expected to showcase not only the Metal Gear Solid collaboration but also the complete Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 roadmap.
