Rainbow Six Siege X is live again after a major breach, but the Marketplace remains closed and players report queues, glitches, and sync issues.
There have been a lot of insane events in gaming this year with delays, surprise launches, studio closures, you name it. But a major breach involving Rainbow Six Siege or Ubisoft? That wasn’t really on anyone’s bingo card. And yet, here we are.
The good news is that Ubisoft’s team has resolved the immediate issue and has now opened Rainbow Six Siege X back up to players again. But the bad news is we still don’t know how serious the real damage is behind the scenes, especially knowing that after many tests, the Marketplace remains shut down until further notice. So yes, Siege is back but things aren’t exactly back to normal.
Rainbow Six Siege Online Again After Breach
Ubisoft has not shared every detail about the breach but the situation has been serious enough to force an emergency shutdown and a rollback of transactions. Since the incident seemed to have affected account systems tied to inventory and purchases, the game was taken offline while the team investigated and worked on restoring services.
A couple of hours ago, Rainbow Six Siege X announced on its X account that all live tests have been completed and the game is now open to all players again. The rollback of transactions has also been completed and those who did not log in between December 27th 10:49 UTC and December 29th should see no changes to their inventory.
However, players that did connect after December 27th 10:49 UTC, Ubisoft says a small percentage of players may temporarily lose access to some owned items. But this will be resolved over the next 2 weeks.
As for the Marketplace, access remains closed until further notice, and Ubisoft has not given a timeline for when it is coming back.
➡️ Our live tests are now complete and we are opening the game to all players. Please note that you may experience a queue when connecting, as our services ramp up.

➡️ The rollback is also complete.

Ubisoft also warned that players may experience a queue, and that is proving accurate. Many players are still stuck waiting in queues as of writing. The team says that if players still get a black screen, restarting the game should bring up the queuing prompt.
That sounds simple, but the prompt itself is causing confusion. Some players are reporting unusually weird timing such as login at 37:90 or even readings like 13m 1040803680s. Others have also said that they waited for their initial clock to run out, reload the page, only to find another prompt message pop up.
There are also reports from players who have successfully gotten back in but are still running into account problems. One X user, Dealwithit, said their account keeps showing a message claiming synchronization for cross platform failed. They said they tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and also unlinking and relinking their account, but nothing has worked so far.
But that’s not the worst part. Unfortunately, some players are experiencing negative R6 credits after the rollback.

So while R6 Siege X is looking better, it’s still not great. Players are still dealing with queues and strange timer messages, and some accounts are still struggling with synchronization issues. The Marketplace is also still closed which adds another layer of frustration for players who rely on it for trading and transactions.
