PRAGMATA - Gameplay Reveal and Mechanics of Capcom’s new action-adventure sci-fi game

PRAGMATA is the new action-adventure sci-fi title from Capcom. A new IP first announced in 2020 and initially set for release in 2022. After a first delay to 2023 and a second unspecified delay, it has been finally confirmed to release in 2026. It’s a sci-fi adventure that will take us to a research lab on the Moon.

In the role of Hugh Williams, we’ll meet the android Diana as we work together to investigate the lab and find a way to return to Earth. By combining Diana’s hacking skills with Hugh’s combat abilities, PRAGMATA will launch in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. PRAGMATA – Gameplay Showcase and Mechanics

With the Capcom Spotlight on June 26, 2025, the team also brought us new information about PRAGMATA, the new Capcom IP that takes us into the future, with an action-adventure game where we must combine Diana’s and Hugh’s abilities to return to Earth. A new trailer explains the key gameplay mechanics.

You’ll have to combine Diana’s hacking skills to break through enemy defenses. This will give Hugh the opportunity to strike their weak points. A mini-game where connecting more blue nodes results in higher damage, making the enemy more vulnerable for longer. Using a variety of weapons will also reward quick reactions in the gameplay.

PRAGMATA: Updates from the Capcom Spotlight and Latest News

In addition to the overview of gameplay in the new trailer, Capcom also brought us some new information about PRAGMATA, confirming right away that the game will be set for release in 2026 after the initial two delays. Here’s an overview of:

  • Story: We will play as Hugh Williams, part of a team sent to investigate a lunar research lab where communications have been lost. But a lunar earthquake separates Hugh from the rest of the team, and he’s saved and cared for by the android D-I-03367 (Diana). The two must work together to return to Earth.
  • Game World: The game takes place in the Delphi Corporation lunar lab, where they are developing a new material capable of 3D printing almost anything. The lab is now devoid of any human life.

Once again confirming the platforms on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Also, a surprise with a playable demo at Gamescom 2025 from August 20th to 24th. More info coming soon, and other chances to try the game.

 

In Conclusion

From what has been confirmed, it looks like PRAGMATA will offer an exciting new mix of puzzle and action gameplay. With a hacking mini-game that recalls the Pipe Dream mini-game in Bioshock, but combined actively during gameplay.
