Pokemon Pokopia First Limited-Time Event Announced for March 9
Pokemon Pokopia’s first limited-time event, “More Spores for Hoppip,” runs March 9–24, featuring exclusive Pokémon and themed rewards.
Are you already fully locked in on Pokemon Pokopia? Because we definitely are. As we’re still settling into our towns, meeting new Pokemon, and building out our habitats, Nintendo has already lined up something extra to look forward to. The first limited-time event has been announced and will introduce special Pokemon encounters that will only be available for a short window.
Pokemon Pokopia ‘More Spores for Hoppip’ Event
Nintendo confirmed that Pokemon Pokopia will feature regular limited-time events, each bringing unique Pokemon, themed items, and special activities to the game. The first of these has now been revealed, giving players their first look at how the system will work.
The event, titled “More Spores for Hoppip,” will run from March 9, 2026 to March 24, 2026. During that time, players can encounter three Pokemon that are exclusive to the event.
At the center is the cottonweed Pokemon Hoppip which players will be able to befriend while the event is active and also collect special cotton spores that appear throughout the town.
These spores act as an event currency and can be exchanged for picnic-themed furniture items. Once players use those items to build a habitat, two additional Pokemon become available to befriend, Skiploom and Jumpluff.
Nintendo noted a few restrictions though. The “More Spores for Hoppip” event will not appear on Cloud Islands and it will only be available in towns where the Pokemon Center has already been rebuilt.
Alongside the event announcement, Nintendo also shared a few extras that players can claim starting today. One of them is a Ditto rug, which can be claimed through the Mystery Gifts menu. The item will remain available until January 31, 2027, though the Mystery Gifts menu only becomes accessible after playing the game for about 30 minutes.
There’s also something for players who enjoy customizing their profile. The first wave of Pokemon Pokopia-themed icons is now available through Nintendo Switch Online. A total of four waves will be released and will end on April 1.
With the game launching today and its first event already on the calendar, Pokemon Pokopia is starting things off with plenty for players to look forward to.
