PlayStation Plus Essential Free Games for September
Sony is expected to announce the PlayStation Plus Essential games for September 2026 later today, but the lineup has already leaked ahead of the official reveal. According to reliable leaker billbil-kun of Dealabs, subscribers will be able to claim Sniper Elite Resistance, Chained Echoes, and Wobbly Life from September 1 through October 5 at no additional cost. The lineup has not yet been officially confirmed by Sony, so we’ll update this article if there are any changes.
Leading the September lineup is Sniper Elite Resistance, the stealth-focused third-person shooter from Rebellion set in occupied France during World War II. Players take on the role of SOE agent Harry Hawker as he works alongside the French Resistance to stop a powerful Nazi Wunderwaffe. The game combines long-range sniping, stealth and tactical combat, while its campaign can also be played in co-op. It also features customizable WWII weapons, Propaganda Missions, Axis Invasion and competitive multiplayer.
Chained Echoes offers something very different, with a story-driven JRPG set in the fantasy continent of Valandis. Players follow a group of heroes caught up in a war between three kingdoms, exploring a range of locations while battling enemies in fast-paced turn-based combat. The game features 16-bit SNES-style visuals, a deep skill and equipment system, customizable airships, crafting and the ability to travel and fight both on foot and in Mechs.
Rounding out the reported lineup is Wobbly Life, a physics-based open-world sandbox designed around exploration, jobs and multiplayer fun. Players are sent out by Grandma to earn money, complete missions and eventually buy their own home, with more than 20 jobs, over 100 missions, more than 90 vehicles and hundreds of clothing items to unlock. The game supports up to four players through online or local split-screen co-op and also includes mini-games, Arcade modes, treasure hunts and a separate space-themed area to explore.
