Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds Battle Royale Is Different From Others
The up and coming battle royale game, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is quickly becoming a crowd favorite because of its closed beta.
Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is the brainchild of Brendan Green. He is no stranger when it comes to battle royale games since he practically invented it.

Green is actually the creator of the battle royal mode of Arma 2 and 3 as well as H1Z1’s King of the Kill. In an interview with PC Gamer, Green states that “I kind of think of it as, you know, I helped kickstart the genre, especially with [H1Z1].” He further adds that “Now I get a chance to kind of make my version. Not to define the genre, but kind of to go, well listen, this is what I always envisioned battle royale to be, and this is my version of the game basically.”
To compare Green sees the Arma 3 battle royale as “too complicated” and that “everything is simulated”, and King of the Kill is “simplified” only counting the kills you get.
Green envisions his battle royale game as something in the middle of both games and at the same time a bit more “arcadey”.
Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is available as an early access on Steam (PC) starting this March 23, 2017.
