Persona 4 Remake revealed as Persona 4 Revival - Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass, and PC Steam!

Persona 4 Revival (P4R) is the remake of the fourth main chapter in the Persona series. The popular JRPG series from Atlus, originally an offshoot of Shin Megami Tensei, became a true IP. The fourth chapter first released in 2008 on PS2. With an expanded version called Golden, which launched on PS Vita and remained exclusive until 2020.

P4 takes us to the rural town of Inaba, inspired mainly by Fuefuki in Yamanashi Prefecture. Where, as the protagonist (Yu Narukami), we get caught up in a series of murders linked to the mysterious Midnight Channel. Offering an additional beloved chapter that combines dating sim elements with JRPG gameplay and an intriguing story. Persona 4 Revival – Game Teaser Unveiled

With rumors growing stronger since the Persona 3 Reload release at the beginning of 2024, Atlus finally reveals the Persona 4 Remake. Announced as part of the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, 2025, Persona 4 Revival is here.

The short teaser showcases some of the key locations in Inaba, including the Class 2-2 at Yasogami High School, Naganaki Shrine, and the Central Shopping District. With an updated model of the protagonist Yu, and confirmation of the platforms for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. And it will also be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, although the release date is yet to be confirmed.

 

Persona 4 Revival: What We Know About the Remake

This remake seems to follow the style and approach of Persona 3 Reload, making some areas and locations of the game explorable in 3D. Continuing the R naming convention from Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal. The teaser doesn’t give much away, but it’s very likely P4R will run on Unreal Engine. And the absence of PS4 and Xbox One suggests the possible jump to UE5 from UE4 used for Reload.

Most likely due to the more extensive use of Ray Tracing. A curious note is the absence of the Nintendo Switch 2 version, though it might be announced later. Another hot topic is the inclusion of P4G content, like the Marie character, January month, new locations and more. Although at least this time, it seems unlikely that cuts will be made, especially since Marie is included from the start of the story.

In Conclusion

All in all, Persona 4 Revival, the modern remake of Persona 4 is real. With a short teaser that has certainly made fans happy. But with lots of info still to be shared by the Atlus team.
