EA is releasing NHL 23 in October, and the publisher has confirmed it will feature female players in its Ultimate Team mode.

For the first time in a sports game, NHL 23 will include female athletes in its HUT game mode, with cover star Sarah Nurse saying, “Hockey is truly a sport for everyone.”

EA’s move to include female stars in HUT comes into the game alongside cross-platform matchmaking, more customization options for Franchise mode, and the IIHF women’s national teams.

EA also announced NHL 23’s release date as October 14, when it will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
