New PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Weapon Coming in May Update
Bluehole will be adding a new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds weapon with its May update which is set to be released on 25 May 2017. The new weapon is the VSS, a sniper rifle. This was introduced in a tweet in the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Twitter account which you can see below:
Well look at our second monthly update early next week on the dev blog, but for now we’re excited to reveal our next new weapon… the VSS! pic.twitter.com/YJiL6svKgm— PLAY BATTLEGROUNDS (@PUBATTLEGROUNDS) May 19, 2017
The new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds weapon, VSS sniper rifle, is said to be shooting a 9×39 cartridge with a 20 or 30 round magazine attachment. That is, if Bluehole totally based this weapon from the real-life VSS.
Aside from the addition of a new weapon, Bluehole will also be releasing a patch which will include improvements to client performance, framerate improvement, and graphic fixes.
Also, the developers will conduct a leaderboard wipeout on 31 May. The reason was because the current standings are not accurate.
“After the [leaderboard] wipe we will make previous stats available publicly sometime before June 15th so your progress will not be lost,” Bluehole said in another tweet.
