In a video, IG and Elena of Daughter talk about how they became inspired to create the soundtrack for the game. Elena said that normally their music is about personal things and that they’ve never tried to write songs about somebody else. She had to “sink into” Chloe’s character in order to understand what she is feeling and relate it to her own life and for it to reflect in their music.
“The direction of our music is like super personal and I haven’t really written anything that’s about another person so I was trying to kind of sink into, especially Chloe’s character. Sink into what she’s feeling and try to relate her life and her feelings of grief and loss to kind of my life.”

Of course, other artists are featured in the game as well like Speedy Ortiz’s No Below. This is heard in the opening credits of Before the Storm.
Life is Strange Before the Storm is a three part episodic game that is a prequel to Life is Strange. The first episode is set to launch on August 31st for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
