Battlefield 6’s battle royale mode, RedSec, is reportedly set to launch on October 28 alongside Season 1, marking a major update for the game.
Battlefield 6 took the gaming community by storm. While the campaign may not be its strongest point, everything else feels like a treat straight out of a candy box. Now that players are fully immersed in the game’s explosive action, Season 1 is about to shake things up even more. Launching on October 28th, it might not be the only major update arriving from Battlefield Studio.
A New Battlefield Experience Awaits: RedSec Battle Royale Incoming
The weekend was nothing short of explosive. As everyone gears up for the launch of Season 1 tomorrow, a bombshell announcement has also surfaced. The long-awaited free-to-play battle royale mode for Battlefield 6 is reportedly launching alongside it.
Thanks to ever reliable EA App and dedicated dataminers, they were able to uncover a new content drop on the 28th which is not season 1. Within the data, a codename “Granite” appeared, set to go live tomorrow. Of course some are skeptical (very few though considering how accurate previous BF6 leaks were) but Tom Henderson even confirmed that Granite is in fact the codename for the game’s battle royale. That’s a pretty solid backing.

According to additional leaks, the launch will initially support Duos (2) and Squads (4) only. Solo and Trio modes are highly requested, though it doesn’t appear they’ll be available at launch.
Most of this information was shared by ModernWarzone’s X account, which described the launch as a “full-on shadowdrop”, meaning there will be no trailers, teasers, or official announcements before release.
Beyond the datamined screenshots, none of the reports refer to this as a rumor anymore, suggesting it’s all but confirmed. The battle royale mode, officially titled Battlefield: RedSec, is expected to go live tomorrow.

Releasing October 28th as previously reported, however it looks like there won’t be any trailers or official announcements until the 28th itself instead of a day before.
