Gran Turismo 7’s August Update Includes 4 New Niche Cars
July was a quiet month for Gran Turismo 7 with no new update released but it looks like Polyphony Digital was just gearing up for a busier August. Not only will the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 Round 2 take place on August 15, with two free stealth cars available through its Viewers Gift Campaign, but a new update for the game has also been confirmed by series creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
Yamauchi teased the upcoming update in a post on his official X account showing four car silhouettes that will be added to Gran Turismo 7 this week. As usual, the teaser does not reveal the cars outright.
As has become something of a tradition with these teasers, fans have already started making their predictions and many are arriving at roughly the same four cars. The first two are believed to be the Toyota Chaser Tourer V JZX100 and Toyota Mark II Tourer V JZX100, two cars closely associated with Japan’s 1990s car culture.
Another widely predicted addition is the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N which would give the game’s current selection of Hyundai N models another electric option. The Ioniq 6 N would follow the previously added Ioniq 5 N and Elantra N TC, both of which are part of Hyundai’s N series.
The fourth prediction is the Caterham Seven Superlight R500, a lightweight sports car that would make its return to the series after previously appearing in Gran Turismo 6.
