Gran Turismo 7’s most ambitious update ever is gearing up for release, promising a content-heavy experience for PS5 players.

Gran Turismo 7 long awaited Spec III Update is coming this December!

Gran Turismo 7 is closing 2025 with its most substantial update since launch. After a rocky start marked by grind complaints and progression frustrations, Polyphony Digital steadily turned the tide through consistent monthly updates. The December 2025 patch, Spec 3, aims to push the game to new heights just in time for the festive season.

Eight Free Cars Coming to Gran Turismo 7

The Spec 3 update brings eight free cars, maintaining the studio’s tradition of monthly gifts for the community. Six models are already confirmed, while the remaining two have been confidently identified by fans through teaser analysis, in particular:

  • Ferrari 296 GT3 2022
  • Gran Turismo F3500-B
  • Mine’s Skyline (R34) GT-R
  • Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R Aero 1998
  • Polestar 5 Performance 2025
  • Renault Espace F1 1995
  • Likely Additions
  • FIAT Panda
  • Ferrari 296 GTB or GTS

The lineup highlights both modern performance icons and fan-favorite classics, giving collectors new reasons to expand their garage. With long-requested vehicles like the Renault Espace F1, the update taps directly into the nostalgia of long-time players.

Two New Circuits to Test Every Machine

Spec 3, as confirmed in September,  also introduces two new circuits: Yas Marina and Gilles-Villeneuve. These world-class tracks offer contrasting styles, from high-speed straights to intense technical sections.

These circuits expand the competitive landscape, offering fresh challenges for both casual racers and esports-focused players. The blend of night-friendly lighting at Yas Marina and the high-risk layout of Gilles-Villeneuve ensures diverse gameplay experiences.

New Cinematics, Scapes, Menus and Gameplay Improvements

Beyond the headline content, the December 2025 update delivers a suite of refinements. New intro cinematics, additional Scapes locations, weekly challenges and fresh Café menus enrich the progression structure.

Polyphony Digital also raises the collector level cap, introduces Dunlop tyres and debuts a full data recorder for advanced telemetry. These features add more depth for sim-oriented players seeking precise performance analysis.

An Extra Layer of Depth Added for the End of 2025

To close the year on a high note, Polyphony has added an extra layer of detail to Spec 3, with revised sound design on select engines, new photomode filters and improved AI aggression. While not officially highlighted, these tweaks contribute to a more immersive experience.

These enhancements underline the studio’s commitment to long-term support, pushing Gran Turismo 7 toward a more refined simulation as it enters its fourth year on the market. While the World Finals is finally coming to a close this 20-21 December at Fukuoka with the crowning of the 2025 World Champion.

In Conclusion: GT7 still surprise in 2025

The December 2025 Spec 3 update marks a milestone for Gran Turismo 7, offering its richest content drop since launch. With iconic cars, new tracks, expanded features and a renewed focus on player experience, the game continues to evolve in exciting ways.
