What are the leading nominees for PC Game of the Year 2026?
The PC Game of the Year 2026 category features ten major titles, including Crimson Desert, Escape from Tarkov, and Mewgenics.
The nomination criteria require that developers released these games between November 1, 2025, and September 25, 2026, creating a diverse shortlist of high-budget releases and indie projects.
The current field offers significant variety for PC players. Pearl Abyss campaigns heavily for Crimson Desert, pushing the technical boundaries of the hardware. Meanwhile, indie successes like Mewgenics demonstrate that creative design can compete directly with large-scale productions.
Escape from Tarkov also qualifies under the eligibility window thanks to its official 1.0 launch. The diverse lineup ensures a highly competitive category where public interest dictates the final result.
How and when can you cast your ballot for the 2026 awards?
Voters can cast their ballots directly on the official Golden Joystick portal right now. Standard categories like Best Storytelling and Best Multiplayer are currently accepting votes until October 23.
The Ultimate Game of the Year category follows a different schedule, opening exclusively between October 26 and October 30.
Participants can simply navigate the digital ballot, select their preferred games across 21 categories, and submit their final choices.
Will your vote decide the 2026 winners?
Public voting serves as the primary metric for selecting the 2026 Golden Joystick Award winners. Unlike events decided purely by media panels, this ceremony relies directly on community participation.
Fans have until October 23 to finalize their ballots before the live ceremony takes place on November 11.
