Fortnite V‑Bucks and Battle Pass prices rise March 19, with devalues, new costs, and 20% Epic Rewards back for eligible purchases.
Well you know it’s bad when inflation hits in-game currency. Courtesy of everything bad (and getting worse) happening in the world, Fortnite has announced that there will be a price increase on V-Bucks. The adjustment will also affect OG, Music, LEGO Passes and devalue the Battle Pass. All to help “pay the bills” apparently.
Fortnite Price Update for V-Bucks and Passes
Inflation doesn’t really play favorites as even virtual economies feel the effects. That reality is hitting Fortnite, as Epic Games prepares to roll out a new round of pricing adjustments for V-Bucks and the game’s progression systems. The changes affect both how much players pay for the in-game currency and how many rewards they can earn through the Battle Pass.
The biggest change is to V‑Bucks which are getting a devalue starting March 19. The bundle that previously gave 1,000 V-Bucks for $8.99 will now provide 800 V-Bucks, while the $22.99 bundle drops from 2,800 to 2,400 V-Bucks. The $36.99 bundle changes from 5,000 to 4,500 V-Bucks, and the $89.99 bundle shifts from 13,500 to 12,500 V-Bucks. Exact-amount purchases are also affected, moving from roughly $0.50 per 50 V-Bucks to about $0.99 per 50 V-Bucks, though regional pricing equivalents apply.
Epic is also emphasizing the Epic Rewards program which returns 20% of eligible purchases as store credit when players buy items using the Epic payment system through the Epic Games Store or supported platforms. That credit can later be spent in Fortnite, other Epic titles, or across the Epic Games Store.

Alongside the currency adjustments, the Battle Pass is getting updated too. It will now cost 800 V‑Bucks instead of 1,000, and completing it gives 800 V‑Bucks back instead of 1,000. Bonus rewards that used to include 500 extra V‑Bucks are gone, and the Battle Pass Bundle with 25 levels drops from 2,800 to 2,600 V‑Bucks.
Additional passes tied to other Fortnite experiences are being adjusted as well. The OG Pass will now cost 800 V-Bucks instead of 1,000, while both the Music Pass and LEGO Pass will cost 1,200 V-Bucks instead of 1,400 starting with their next release.
There’s also some adjustments to Fortnite Crew with the monthly reward shifting from 1,000 V-Bucks to 800 V-Bucks. Subscribers will receive email notifications detailing when the update takes effect in their region.
On the bright side (yes, there is), the Epic Rewards program still gives you 20% back on eligible purchases through the Epic payment system, so there’s a little extra to spend later in Fortnite or across other Epic Games Store titles. Plus, if you already have V‑Bucks gift cards, they’ll still redeem for the full printed value, so nothing you already own loses its worth. If you’re continuing your Fortnite journey, maybe it’s time to stock up.
All the changes go live on March 19 so there’s still a bit of time to plan your purchases before the new prices and rewards kick in.
