Xbox and Bethesda are currently working on “multiple” Fallout projects, according to a rumor circulating online, reigniting fan hopes for more titles in the post-apocalyptic RPG franchise.

While Fallout 5 remains years away, a new rumor suggests Xbox and Bethesda are preparing several Fallout titles. However, there has been no official confirmation or announcement from either Bethesda or Xbox.
It’s been a long time since fans have seen a Fallout game, with Fallout 4 launching in 2015 and Fallout 76 in 2018. In the meantime, fans have had Amazon Prime’s Fallout, which is getting its season 2 in December 2025.
What the Fallout Rumors Suggest
The latest rumor comes from VGC’s Jordan Middler, who was on the latest Friends Per Second podcast, where he spoke about “multiple” Fallout projects and stated that there’s even “the one you’re all wanting.”
Middler does not go into any detail on what projects are in development, but did say that the game everyone wants is “not far enough along to say anything that is like, you’re going to be playing this game anytime soon.” You can watch the podcast and get Middler’s thoughts below.
Fallout’s Resurgence in 2025
Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic franchise has had a major resurgence in recent years, thanks massively to Amazon’s Fallout TV adaptation, which saw spikes in Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 players.
The second season of the show is due in December 2025, and it would make sense for Microsoft and Bethesda to take advantage of its popularity and any new fans by expanding the Fallout content more aggressively across Xbox Game Studios.
What Could Be in Development?
It was leaked in 2023 that Bethesda is in the process of developing a Fallout 3 remaster. Middler specifically mentioned “multiple” projects, which fans will hope is a Fallout: New Vegas remaster or sequel, or a reimagining of the original isometric titles.

Bethesda has resources to work on another AAA than TES VI... Fallout 5 (obviously if there's "the one you’re all wanting") could be a good tech showcase for the next Xbox right? Well they could merge F5 with Fallout Online too mmh. Which could be played as standalones like Rockstar games you know.
