With a development spanning over 7 years, today finally marks the launch of Escape From Tarkov, the Hardcore FPS experience from Battlestate Games, ready to redefine the Extraction Shooter landscape with Version 1.0.

 

What is Escape from Tarkov?

Escape from Tarkov (EFT) is the multiplayer first-person shooter from the Battlestate Games team. A Hardcore experience where you’ll play in a true fight for survival, as the Extraction Shooter that redefined the genre.

Where the goal is very simple: playing as a PMC (your character) or Scav (random loadout), you’ll prep for a raid facing players or AI-controlled Scavs. All while using tactics and cooperation to get the loot out safely. In a challenge where you put everything on the line, either saving your life and the loot or losing it all.

 

A New Standard for Hardcore First-Person Shooter Gameplay

Ever since its initial launch with the Closed Beta on 28 July 2017, Tarkov has thrilled a large segment of gamers. Thanks to its brutal hardcore nature, but also by bringing rich and deep gameplay, specifically offering:

  • High-Stakes Raids: An experience that has a “gambling” aspect. Where, in search of precious loot, you have to organize yourself well. Since every fight can lead to death and the loss of all your gear.
  • Brutal PvPvE: The world of Tarkov is hostile. You’ll deal not only with fierce AI factions but also with the threat of other players. Competing for the same resources.
  • Deep Weapon Customization: One of the most appreciated aspects is the deep weapon customization, as well as a huge number of mods. Letting you create your ideal arsenal for every occasion and playstyle.
  • Survival Experience: It’s not just about shooting. With survival elements like Stamina, Bleeds, and a realistic injury system for an even more brutal experience.
 

How to Join Escape from Tarkov

Escape From Tarkov therefore debuts on 15 November 2025 with version 1.0. An official debut that also marks the availability of the Extraction Shooter from Battlestate Games right on the Steam platform.

Welcoming a new wave of players, and with 3 game Editions available, namely the Standard, Left Behind Edition, and Prepare for Escape Edition. With the last 2 bringing additional content like secure containers and expanded stash.
