Dive into the Deep: Enshrouded Update 7 “Wake of the Water” Unveiled
The Keen Games team is revamping Enshrouded, their co-op survival crafting experience, with the massive Update 7 Wake of the Water!
Enshrouded is the survival crafting-style action adventure game in development by the Keen Games team. The German development team founded in 2005, announced the title in 2023. Drawing heavy inspiration from titles like Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Valheim. They dropped an first extensive demo in November 2023 on Steam
The game debuted in Early Access on Steam on 24 January 2024, to huge success. Thanks to an open-world survival experience playable in co-op with up to 16 players. It’s scheduled for official launch, with a console debut, in 2026.

Enshrouded: Wake of the Water Available Now
Following the teaser from Gamescom 2025, we finally have the long-awaited launch of Update 7 for Enshrouded. Titled “Wake of the Water,” the Keen Games team has finally made the massive update available.
Available since 10 November 2025, it brings a new game area with the mysterious Veilwater Basin. Full of ruins, beaches, and mysteries to discover, with water as the main star. Including new crafting features and new activities like the essential fishing.

Enshrouded: Update 7 Highlights
Wake of the Water debuts as part of Update 7 for Enshrouded, specifically version v.0.9.0.0 of the game. A massive update that the team invites the Flameborn to discover, accompanying the launch with a video showing the new additions and main features, which include:
- Veilwater Basin: A new tropical-style game area dominated by water. Bringing ruins and new dangers like the reptilian Drak. Not to mention new resources and crafting recipes.
- Water: Simulated in real-time, with new additions and interactions allowing you to carry, use, and pour water. As the team confirms, given its simulated nature, water will have some impact on performance after a certain limit.
- Fishing: An essential activity for a water-themed update. You can now fish for various types of fish for cooking and crafting. With common and rarer variants, available with different types of bait and in different zones. Plus various types of fishing rods to craft.
- Greatsword: We also have a new weapon class available. Available and findable in chests right from the first Biome. Also bringing related skills, perks, and armor pieces with the update.
But there’s also no shortage of optimizations, balancing to the game experience and the world of Embervale. With all the details available in the Patch log on the official site.

Enshrouded is revamped with a new game experience. Bringing not only a new tropical area with ruins and beaches. But also the simulation and interaction with water, even on a creative level.
