Yesterday marked a massive day for Rainbow Six Siege players, especially those subscribed to Xbox Game Pass. With the official launch of Rainbow Six Siege X on June 10th, the game entered a new era of access, rewards, and content alignment across its player base. The launch wasn’t without its bumps though with maintenance delays held things up, but once the servers opened, the community jumped in full force.
How Does Rainbow Six Siege X Work On Game Pass?
Rainbow Six Siege X launched with three different editions: Free Access, Elite Edition, and Ultimate Edition. Free Access gives players a taste of core content like Quick Match, Unranked, and Dual Front with a limited operator pool. This version is open to all players as the public entry point into the game.
But of course, longtime Siege players weren’t just handed the same deal. In fact, veterans received a free upgrade plus exclusive rewards based on how long they’ve stuck with the game. The longer your R6 journey, the more legacy content you get to enjoy from day one.
Game Pass members didn’t have to settle for Free Access too. As part of the benefits, Game Pass subscribers immediately unlock the Elite Edition of Rainbow Six Siege X. This upgrade provides access to:
- Quick Match, Unranked, and Dual Front game modes
- A base pool of operators included with Free Access
- Instant unlock of 16 additional operators from Year 1 and Year 2
- Ranked playlists and Siege Cup competitive modes
On top of all that, Game Pass users will receive free DLC throughout the year and rotating in-game rewards. Ubisoft has yet to reveal the full details of the exclusive Game Pass benefits. As per earlier reports, they’ll sync up with key milestones across the 2025 Siege X and the BLAST R6 esports tour. These however are reserved for Ultimate members.
The Ultimate Edition may not be included in Game Pass, but subscribers get a substantial discount to upgrade. This edition offers everything in the Elite Edition plus the Disruptor Pack which contains cosmetic bundles for Nøkk, Warden, Frost, and Maverick. For players looking to deck out their operators and grab the complete package, the upgrade path feels worth it.
