SHADE Protocol is the 2D metroidvania in retro pixel style, being developed by the Little Legendary team. The debut title of this small but passionate indie development team. It takes us into a futuristic world on the brink of collapse. A world conquered by the sentient entity Elythium.

SHADE Protocol – Announced the Metroidvania from Little Legendary

On Sunday, May 25, 2025, we had the OTK Games Expo, a showcase dedicated to the world of indie games. With numerous announcements from various indie game studios. Among the many reveals was SHADE Protocol. The debut title from Little Legendary that takes us to a cyber-fantasy world full of action.

With the official reveal of the game, accompanied by the first trailer. A trailer that shows us the game in action, set in a universe designed with a retro pixel style filled with animations. Where we will guide the heroine Zura through various locations to stop the dominion of Elythium.

SHADE Protocol: What We Know So Far

A 2D metroidvania adventure definitely inspired by the great classics. But offering an action-packed gameplay that hides many exciting novelties. Offering:

• Rewrite Reality: A game world that exists as code, where we’ll be able to alter reality. With discoveries, event alterations, and reliving key moments to change the outcome of the clash between the SHADEs and Xaviors factions.

• Gameplay Mechanics: A combat system that mixes melee attacks with powerful skills. Using the DAWN and SHADE modes to change gameplay style. Plus, parries and counters in a game world that will test us.

• Singing Weapons: Zura will have a musical weapon arsenal, each with its own unique gameplay style and abilities for exploration. Alternating between each weapon for every situation.
