Moros Protocol (MP) is the new first-person shooter from the team at Pixel Reign. A Greek development team founded in 2018, bringing a new ambitious project. Published in collaboration with Super Rare Originals and orignally announced in 2022 as Darkverse: Rogue.
This time, they’re bringing a sci-fi roguelite adventure where we’ll find ourselves on the spaceship The Orpheus. As an FPS that pays homage to classic ’90s and 2000s boomer shooters. Moros Protocol: The Decision for a 2-Week Delay
With the launch date confirmed back in July 2025, Pixel Reign and Super Rare Originals bring an important new update on Moros Protocol. Confirming the decision to delay the release date of the Sci-Fi Roguelike FPS by two weeks. Moving the date from 4 September to 18 September 2025.
A decision that the team had already shared earlier in the day on 27 August 2025 on Discord and Steam. Later confirmed via an official communication released exactly at 20:00 CEST (11:00 am PDT / 2:00 pm EST). However, this delay also comes with the confirmation of the launch on GOG alongside Steam.

Moros Protocol: The Reason for the Delay and the Latest News
Although not mentioned directly, the decision to delay was likely caused again by Hollow Knight: Silksong. The highly anticipated sequel to the global phenomenon from Team Cherry. Certainly being one of the most awaited games of 2025. Thus adding Moros Protocol to the ever-growing list of games delayed because of Silksong.
As for the most recent news, the team recently attended Gamescom with a small booth. Meanwhile, their most recent Dev Diary #19 features the game’s composer, Vicky Fysika. Where she shares the creative process of the soundtrack, including strong inspirations from classics like Alien, Blade Runner, and Star Wars. As well as the intensity and emotional weight that the soundtrack brings to the gaming experience.

So, even the small team at Pixel Reign doesn’t want to take any risks, moving the launch of Moros Protocol by 2 weeks. A decision made to maximize the attention for a game that’s been in development since 2022 and is finally approaching its release.
