It looks like Final Fantasy 2 isn’t the only one which joined Xbox Game Pass today. Completely flying under the radar, Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has also joined the service and is now available for Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass members.

The first game from the wave 1 announcement later today has fallen off the cracks. Spotted by multiple eagle-eyed gamers, Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has now joined the service. Subscribers of Ultimate, PC, and Premium can play it at no additional cost across Xbox consoles, PC, cloud, and handheld.

Unlike Final Fantasy 2 which entered today as well, Pirate Yakuza wasn’t part of last month’s list so the drop was a pleasant surprise for members. After a lukewarm January, this move makes subscribers excited for February.

The game ties directly into Infinite Wealth’s Hawaii storyline, with Pirate Yakuza essentially acting as an epilogue to IW. While Infinite Wealth itself isn’t on Game Pass, it may be tempting to jump straight into this spinoff. However, even though Pirate Yakuza is a standalone experience, it does spoil the ending of IW.

If that doesn’t bother you though or if you’re not planning to play anything outside of Game Pass, you won’t regret playing this game.

   

Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii follows Goro Majima after he’s shipwrecked on a remote Pacific island with no memory of his past, setting him on an over-the-top modern pirate adventure across land and sea. Reinventing himself as a pirate captain, Majima assembles a ragtag crew, upgrades his ship, and hunts for lost memories and a legendary treasure while clashing with criminals and rival pirates.

Gameplay blends real-time naval battles, ship boarding brawls, and signature Yakuza-style combat, letting you switch between the fast, flashy Mad Dog style and the weapon-heavy Sea Dog style. It’s a standalone spin on the Yakuza formula that leans into spectacle, humor, and action while expanding the series into open-sea piracy.
