JDM: Japanese Drift Master (JDM) is the open-world racing sim developed by the Gaming Factory team. The game is co-published in collaboration with the publisher 4Divinity, announced in April 2023. A first demo was released in October 2023 and initially expected for launch in 2024, but delayed until today’s final release date.
With a sim-arcade racing game taking us to Japan, specifically into the drifting world. It features over 250 km of roads inspired by the Honshu region. With over 2 years of development and numerous delays, today finally marks the official launch of JDM: Japanese Drift Master. The arcade racing sim experience from the Gaming Factory team is now available starting today on PC through Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. More specifically, at:
- May 21, 2025, at 7:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM ET / 4:00 PM CEST
A much-awaited launch for genre fans who’ve followed the team’s periodic news. The team accompanies the launch with the official trailer that takes us into the Japanese drifting world.
JDM: Japanese Drift Master – Gameplay and Main Features
JDM is definitely an interesting project, combining the arcade racing experience with an open-world sim. The main theme being drifting, it takes us to the fictional prefecture of Guntama, inspired by the Honshu region, birthplace of the drift culture. It offers:
- Open World: Explore over 250 km of Guntama’s roads with its scenic views, from iconic mountain roads (touge) to the more bustling city areas. All accompanied by a dynamic time system and a day-night cycle.
- Customization and Physics: The game offers a strong level of vehicle customization, embodying the style of Japanese cars. Featuring numerous parts, as well as iconic licensed cars. With arcade sim-style physics compatible with keyboard, controller, and racing gear.
- Story and Audio: There’s also a story told in manga style with over 40 events and side missions. Plus, realistic car sounds with live recordings and various radio stations for a more immersive experience.
