Why Helldivers 2 Just Pulled the Emergency Brake on the New Warbond
Bad news for the Galaxy’s finest. The highly anticipated “Redacted Regiment” Warbond for Helldivers 2, originally scheduled for January 20, has been hit with an indefinite delay. Arrowhead Game Studios pulled the emergency brake at the last second.

Why The Stealth Warbond Vanished
Just days before the launch, Arrowhead dropped a critical update on January 16, 2026. During final testing phases, the developers identified a “major issue” that failed to meet their quality standards.
Rather than shipping a broken update, the studio decided to postpone the release. As of now, there is no new confirmed date. The studio stated they are not yet able to communicate a new timeline, meaning we might be waiting a while before we can sneak behind automaton lines.

Redacted Regiment: The Arsenal
When the content finally drops, it promises to overhaul how we approach missions. The focus is entirely on “covert reconnaissance” and stealth mechanics.
The Weapons
- R-72 Censor: A mid-range precision rifle with an integrated silencer.
- AR-59 Suppressor: A fully automatic assault rifle, also permanently silenced.
- P-35 Re-Educator: A secondary pistol firing chemical darts that induce delirium in organic foes and malfunctions in bots.
The Stratagems
- B/MD C4 Pack: A backpack holding 6 adhesive charges with a remote detonator. You can blow them individually or all at once.
- TM-01 Lure Mine: Sticks to surfaces and emits light/sound to attract enemies before exploding.
Helldivers 2 Armor and Stealth
The update brings two new armor sets: the light RS-89 Shadow Paragon and the medium RS-67 Null Cipher.
Both feature the Reduced Signature passive. This reduces the noise you generate and shrinks the enemy detection range.
To aid in these “ghost” runs, a new booster called Concealed Insertion deploys a smoke screen the moment your Hellpod hits the ground, allowing for immediate cover upon landing.
Verdict: Is the Helldivers 2 Delay Good?
While the delay is frustrating, Arrowhead’s commitment to quality prevents the disaster of a buggy launch. This extra time allows players to farm Super Credits to unlock the Warbond immediately when it eventually goes live.
