Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (RFGA) is the action RPG adventure with a Fantasy Life Sim style from Marvelous. This chapter debuted on June 5, 2025, as a new spin-off title in the Rune Factory series. Which itself is a fantasy RPG spin-off of the Story of Seasons series, previously known in the West as Harvest Moon.

With Azuma bringing more action-packed gameplay and a management component, on top of the classic return of Life Sim features. Taking us to the mysterious Azuma region with its distinct Japanese style, divided into various areas each with its own seasons and festivals. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma – The Spin-off’s First Big Milestone

Just two months after its launch on June 5, 2025, Marvelous Inc. is sharing some news about Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma. The new spin-off chapter in the Rune Factory series with a more action-oriented approach. Sharing on August 18, 2025, the first awesome milestone reached by Azuma.

Hitting over 500,000 copies sold worldwide. A fantastic first achievement for RFGA, with the team expressing deep thanks for the fans’ support. Celebrating it all with a special illustration featuring the mascot Woolby. Just a reminder, the game is available on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, and PC.

 

Updates on Guardians of Azuma and Marvelous at Gamescom

Definitely a fantastic first milestone for the RF spin-off. Which also saw a collab with the free Sakuna DLC, from Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. While at least for now, there doesn’t seem to be any new updates on the way for the game. Although there’s still the potential release on PS5 and Xbox Series, which has already been rated by the Australian Classification board.

But as the Marvelous team themselves let us know, the team will be at Gamescom 2025. With a dedicated booth at the Cologne event, where fans can get hands-on with some of the publisher’s games. Specifically:
