Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (RF GoA) is the new spin-off chapter of the Rune Factory series, which itself is a spin-off from the more famous Story of Seasons series (previously known as Harvest Moon).
Azuma picks up the fantasy setting of RF, but offers a much more action-focused experience compared to previous games. However, it doesn’t skip the farming and life simulation elements, allowing you to build your village in the Azuma region. The game will be released on May 30, 2025, for PC and Nintendo Switch.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma – Character Trailers
Taking advantage of Valentine’s Day, on February 14th, the Marvelous team revealed 2 new trailers for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma. These trailers are dedicated to the characters with whom we can form relationships during the adventure.
With a total of 16 characters, though 2 of them, Pilika and Cuilang, will only be available through the Season of Love DLC. What’s also interesting is the inclusion of a character from our past, either Subaru or Kaguya, who will serve as our childhood friend.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma: Who are the Bachelors and Bachelorettes?
We have a compilation of 2 trailers that showcase the male and female candidates for RF GoA. Specifically, we’ll have:
Bachelorette
- Iroha: Friendly owner of Iroha’s Teahouse
- Ulalaka: Kind goddess of Spring and Joy
- Hina: Half-fox, half-human archaeologist
- Matsuri: Carefree goddess of Summer and Arms
- Kanata: Prestigious goddess of Light and the Skies
- Clarice: Mysterious soldier leading a mysterious group
- Pilika (DLC): Skilled huntress with a deep respect for life
- Kaguya: Our childhood friend with a love for nature
Bachelor
- Murasame: Master swordsman of the Munen Muso style
- Mauro: Treasure hunter in search of a legendary treasure
- Kai: Powerful Oni god from the Underworld
- Kurama: Cunning god of Autumn and Wind
- Fubuki: Half-wolf god of Winter and Water
- Ikaruga: Mystic leader of the Jingasa Corps
- Cuilang (DLC): Expert puppeteer
- Subaru: Our childhood friend with a strong sense of justice

A very diverse selection of characters, with a classic and beloved feature of the series. Although the decision to lock 2 characters behind the DLC before launch isn’t ideal.
