In disappointingly bitter news for millions of fans, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have confirmed another major delay for Grand Theft Auto 6, pushing its highly anticipated launch back to November 19, 2026.

This latest postponement shifts the GTA 6 release date back for a second time, after it was originally delayed in Fall 2025 in favor of a May 2026 launch to give “the team some additional time to finish the game.”
In a letter to fans, Rockstar Games apologized to fans while promising to use the extra months to polish the game to the level fans “have come to expect and deserve.” It will now be released on November 19, 2026, just in time for the holiday season.
The Official Confirmation: A Shift to November
During a call with investors, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed confidence in delivering “an unrivaled blockbuster entertainment experience” on the newly announced release date of November 19, 2026.
Speaking exclusively to IGN, Zelnick said he is “highly confident” that Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t see another delay and that Rockstar has used the time well to ensure the open-world action game will be “spectacular” at launch.
GTA 6’s Pursuit of Quality and Technical Scope
With pressure building on Rockstar to deliver, what leading investment firm Konvoy Ventures believes will be the “largest gaming release of all time,” with an estimated $7.6bn in revenue in its first two months, it makes sense that the developer wants additional time to create a fully realized, next-generation Vice City with dual protagonists.
Although disappointing, the new GTA 6 delay will give Rockstar the extra time to deliver the expected level of polish and stability fans expect, while ensuring the massive open-world runs optimally on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Investor Calm vs. Fan Frustration
Following this latest delay, GTA 6 continues to build significant hype. While the news was met with predictable frustration from fans, Zelnick’s calm attitude towards the delay will instill faith among investors.
The launch of GTA 6 is expected to be the most anticipated event in gaming history, and the delay to November 19, 2026, will build trust among fans and investors, as Take-Two and Rockstar guarantee a high-quality title that will maximize long-term sales and reputation.
Conclusion
Take-Two Interactive has announced that Rockstar Games’ upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed again. This latest delay pushes the release back from May 2026 to November 19, 2026. Lol, that´s it, I´m done, they killed the hype completely now for me, I was thinking of buying the newer console because of it, but nah, I´ll just wait for the PC version, I ain´t giving them a penny more for this sh*t, it would be okay if it would be like 2 months more or so, but really just delayed it another 7 months, that´s just too much, like I´m expecting more memes lol, seriously this is never ending release, screw them O_O.
