Rare difficulty spikes aren’t enough to steal the spotlight away from tight controls, solid level design, and an enticing world to explore. Amidst the plethora of indie platformers that release these days, Pankapu is one of the better adventures to be had.

After my first couple hours with Pankapu, I expected to sail through the rest of the campaign and move on from this gorgeous action platformer. I had no idea that I still had more than 6 hours of challenging, thoughtful content in front of me at that time but I’m glad that I did as Pankapu ended up being one of my most pleasant surprises of the year.

Pankapu is a decent platform game which plays it very traditional. It has a lovely art style and a lot of charm which goes a long way to make this game very enjoyable to play. Whilst I found the story elements of the game mostly missed the mark the platforming was more then enough to keep me engaged.
