• Catch a plethora of cute bugs, Beetles! Butterflies! Bees! Dragonflies, etc., over forty cool bug species that live in Kabuto Park, and try to catch them by timing your net swings right.
• Pick and choose your team depending on their stats, abilities, or look, then beat every beetle battler in town! Each bug will add different types of cards to your deck that you can use during fights, pushing opponents out of the ring.

I can’t get over how sweet Kabuto Park is, and it proves that simplicity can really be the best policy. However, it falters sometimes due to its small scope and simple premise. It allows for a lot of repetition in its gameplay, alleviated by a short runtime but present nonetheless. But don’t let this stop you from trying out such a relaxing and heartfelt indie title. For such a small price, why wouldn’t you at least give it a go?

For an RPG under two hours long, Kabuto Park offers an excellent balance of bug collecting and battling, keeping everything in its tight package simple. It’s one of those rare games that I restarted simply because I found myself wanting to go through all over again. Doot Tiny Games has offered RPGamers a cozy RPG that will take players back to simpler times when exploring the world around them was the way of life. Any RPGamer who loves a creature collector RPG or wishes to indulge in a short and sweet experience should absolutely spend five dollars to check out this gem of an indie game.

Kabuto Park feels like the type of game you play for about 15-20 minutes every day for a week when you need to take a minute to relax. It’s never taxing. The challenge is minimal. The bugs are cute. I doubt anyone will spend longer than a few hours 100%-ing it, but it’s enjoyable in moderation.
