7 Days to Die (abbreviated as 7DTD or 7D2D) is an open world, voxel-based survival horror sandbox action-adventure RPG. The game features the ability to create, destroy, and manipulate objects, hence it is a sandbox game. It uses a first-person view and it’s a horror game that emphasizes exploration, survival, and combat.
There’s a hint of a good game in 7 Days to Die’s mix of zombie attack preparedness and crafting and cooperative stands against zombies, and it has valuable ideas to contribute to the genre. In fact, you can almost hear them screaming to escape from beneath terrible graphics, barely useable menu controls, and shoddy console optimization. This is an apocalypse amongst apocalypses.
7 Days to Die on console is a terrible port of a game which otherwise shows real promise on PC, where it currently languishes in Early Access. In its current state on consoles, the game is technically playable, but that’s the best that can be said of it.
7 Days to Die, in my opinion, is dated in a lot of ways. Some of the mechanics feel unnecessarily tedious, the game doesn’t look incredible, and the engine is undoubtedly on its last legs. In other ways, however, the game is revolutionary, featuring a core mechanic loop that I am shocked no other games have replicated and a surprising amount of player freedom in its gameplay.

From PvE to PvP, there's plenty of item crafting, base building, looting, tower defence, a terrifying atmosphere and lots of added value if you play in a group, although lone wolves will also find something to enjoy. The content is huge and development continues, more than 10 years on. And sales are over 18 million!
