Bloober Team’s Cryptic Update: A Dark Reveal Confirmed for Valentine’s Day

Bloober is finally ready to reveal the next horror experience this Valentine’s Day!

Bloober Team isn’t letting us sleep. Just when we thought we had their rhythm figured out after Silent Hill 2 and Cronos: The New Dawn, they’ve decided to play mind games again.

Their cryptic countdown website just got an update, and honestly? It’s unsettling.

If you visit remosdneulserorehsoovamceyerd.com right now, you’re not just staring at a timer anymore. The studio has added layers to the mystery, and it’s pointing toward a very dark Valentine’s Day reveal.

A Poisoned Valentine

The countdown is still ticking away toward February 14, 2026, but the vibe has shifted from “mysterious” to “downright ominous.”

The page now features a stylized red rose. It looks innocent enough until you hover over the play button—then the rose begins to bleed. Beneath the imagery, there’s a new text chilling enough to set the tone for whatever this game is:

“Some things never leave the walls. They only learn to wait.”

When you hit play, you aren’t greeted by jump scares, but something worse: a distorted, intense voice reading snippets of poetry. The lines, “Thou art sick… invisible flies in the night… bed of crimson joy,” are ripped directly from William Blake’s The Sick Rose.

It’s a poem about corruption, destruction, and hidden desires. Not exactly the typical romance you expect on Valentine’s Day.

Onyx, Rule of Rose, or Project M?

So, what are we actually looking at here? The internet is doing its thing, and the theories are wild. Because of the rose imagery, a lot of survival horror veterans are hoping—perhaps desperately—that this is a remake or spiritual successor to Rule of Rose.

The cult classic from 2006 fits the aesthetic, but it might be a stretch.

A more grounded theory comes from a recent trademark filing. Bloober Team registered “Onyx: The Dark Grip” late last year. Given the dark, crushing themes of the poem, that title fits the mood perfectly.

There’s also the lingering “Project M” exclusive for the rumored Switch 2, which the studio has hinted at previously.

Here is what we know for sure:

  • The Date: February 14, 2026.
  • The Theme: Corruption, waiting, and “sickness.”
  • The Dev: Bloober Team is juggling this alongside the confirmed Silent Hill 1 Remake.

Verdict: Should You Care?

Absolutely. Bloober Team has graduated from “that studio that makes walking sims” to a powerhouse in the horror genre.

They nailed the atmosphere in Silent Hill 2, and if Cronos proved anything, it’s that they aren’t afraid to get weird with sci-fi horror either.

Whatever lands on Valentine’s Day, it’s going to be polished, it’s going to be psychological, and it’s definitely going to be scary.

If you’re a fan of narrative-driven horror, keep this tab open.

What’s your bet: Is “Onyx” a brand new IP, or is the Rule of Rose dream actually alive?
