Bad Cheese: Now Available

Following the reveal of its release date on August 17, 2025, today marks the official launch of Bad Cheese. The fantastic yet macabre black-and-white psychological horror experience from Simon Lukasik. Simon’s new independent project is available right now, September 1, 2025, on major Console and PC platforms.

It’s accompanied by the official trailer that shows us the kind of experience that awaits. Playing as the mouse Keymick, while his mother is away on a trip, we must keep our house clean and take care of our dysfunctional father. With demons and monstrosities waiting for us around every corner as we complete various objectives.

Bad Cheese: Gameplay and Key Features

The new, mostly, solo project by Simon Lukasik presents itself as a game with an intriguing style. It captures the charm and auditory experience of classic cartoons, particularly Mickey Mouse and Steamboat Willie, but in a psychological horror context that leverages the artist’s mature design. Here’s what it brings:

  • Psychological Horror Adventure: Play as the 7-year-old mouse, Keymick. You’ll have to take care of the house and your father. A horror adventure inside your own home, with monstrosities appearing before the little mouse’s eyes.
  • Complete House Chores: To avoid getting into trouble, you’ll have to keep the house clean, wash, clean, kill spiders, and bring your father his pills. All without making too much noise and attracting attention.
  • Survive: With many new unexplored areas of the house infested with various monstrosities ready to attack you. Also, be careful not to anger your father, who you’ll see in different forms depending on the context. Search for a sense of normality in an abnormal situation.

All of this comes together in a game that adopts a 2.5D style with a 3D house but with monsters and various elements in 2D, created on Unreal Engine 5. The game also confirms its Verified status on Steam Deck. And it’s celebrating the final days before launch with the Cheese Art Contest and the end of the Demo period.
