FromSoftware is giving Nightfarers an early holiday gift with the first major DLC expansion for Elden Ring Nightreign, titled The Forsaken Hollows, which has been officially announced for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S with a December 4 release date.

Revealed during the recent PlayStation State of Play Japan, Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows promises to inject fresh content into the co-op Soulslike spin-off, featuring new terrifying bosses, two new Nightfarers, and a new Shifting Earth event.

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have announced that the DLC expansion will launch across all platforms on December 4, 2025, in time for the holiday season.

New Nightfarers: Scholar and Undertaker

The most exciting new additions coming to Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows are the inclusion of the two brand-new playable Nightfarers, the Scholar and Undertaker.

An academic “boasting impressive arcane levels,” the Scholar gains advantages by observing the battlefield, which suggests a magic-heavy character with a focus on support or debuff builds.

In contrast, the Undertaker is an abbess with overwhelming strength and faith, who will be a powerful frontline option for Nightfarers who want to pummel their enemies with “ruthless efficiency.”

New Challenge: The Great Hollow Shifting Earth Event and Formidable Foes

Along with the new playable characters, The Forsaken Hollows introduces a new Shifting Earth event called The Great Hollow. This all-new event is described as a “great cavity in the depths of Limveld,” offering exotic ruins, temples, and cursed, life-draining crystals.

Adding to the challenge are new bosses, including the formidable and much-requested Artorias from Dark Souls, the Dancing Lion from the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and a new version of the Gladius Nightlord.

Release Date and Access: How to Play The Forsaken Hollows DLC

The Forsaken Hollows is set for a global release on December 4, 2025, launching for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The upcoming DLC is included in the Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition, while others can purchase the expansion separately. Those who purchase it early will also receive a digital artbook and mini soundtrack.
