Techland continues to gear up towards the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human by releasing a video showcasing the making of the main theme, “Run, Jump, Fight.“
Olivier Derivière, the composer for Dying Light 2 Stay Human, collaborated with the London Contemporary Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios to bring to life The City.
Derivière has previously worked on games such as Streets of Rage 4, A Plague Tale: Innocence, and Vampyr, other games that use music to set tone and atmosphere.
Techland wants Dying Light 2’s soundtrack to push players to their limit by encouraging parkour, exploration, and fast-paced combat through adrenaline-fuelled music.
To help create the sounds you hear whenever you make touch decisions, discover something new, or interact with a character, Techland and Derivière worked with musician Nicolas Bras.
Bras designed a custom-built instrument using an old bike wheel, a steel rod, and metal wires.
The instrument itself reflects the kind of ingenuity you will need within the game as you create, craft, and mod weapons and items from the minimal resources you find when exploring.
You can fully experience the game’s music when Dying Light 2 Stay Human launches on February 2, 2022, on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC.
