Cyberpunk 2077 Launch Will Go as Planned Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, CD Projekt Red has revealed that its Cyberpunk 2077 launch plans will push through as scheduled.
In a post on its website, CDPR said that “the entire CD PROJEKT team has been working from home since mid-March.” Despite having to work remotely, the team is able to continue working on Cyberpunk 2077 “without major disruptions.” According to CD PROJEKT Group, their strategy of “avoiding debt and accumulating cash reserves” has allowed them to continue working even while facing tough times.
“There is no shortage of motivation and we also possess all the tools needed to facilitate remote work. We’ve been operating in this mode for over three weeks and to-date results confirm that we can carry on with all our operations without major disruptions. Our plans haven’t changed – we’re steaming towards the September release of Cyberpunk,” says CD PROJEKT joint-CEO Adam Kiciński.
In related news, CD Projekt SVP of business development Michal Nowakowski revealed that the game won’t be a launch title for next-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X. CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077 launch for next-gen consoles will “come later,” and Nowakowski is not sure at this time exactly when it’s going to be.
