Green Hell is one of my favorites when it comes to survival games due to how unforgiving it is for new players. Creepy Jar seems to be going a different route with StarRupture, focusing more on material extraction and factory building and automation with a bit of horde-shooter to complement. I saw the public playtest a few months ago and looked a bit barebones, maybe now with the Early Access release it feels a bit more complete.
STARRUPTURE reminds me of quite a few different games. With survival elements like Green Hell, the developers are sticking to their favourite terrain. But with exploration, an extra-planetary dimension (deliveries...), a climatic dimension (hostile events), and above all automation, one of the pillars of the game. It has a Satisfactory feel to it, but that's not all. There are many survival games of this kind, so I hope it will stand out from the crowd.
StarRupture seems like a grounded mix of base‑building, survival and sci‑fi exploration, you land on a hostile planet, build up a factory, mine resources, and try to survive alien threats and environmental hazards. The co‑op angle adds weight: teaming up with friends to build and defend feels like it could bring some satisfying chaos.
It's definitely looking good! Love these kind of survival first-person games. I hope it takes a lot of action taking into account it's a shooter. Here we go! Hodexii
