Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a third-person hack and slashes action-adventure game developed by LucasArts, in it you journey into the Star Wars universe as Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice trained to hunt down and destroy the Jedi all over the galaxy. Use your devastating force powers and lightsaber combos to do your master’s bidding, with local multiplayer you can also challenge your friends to a 1V1 in Duel Mode!

Technical details are topnotch save for a few glitches. The animated cinematics between levels is particularly gorgeous, while the score nicely mixes John Williams’ “Star Wars” themes with inspired new ones. Motion-capture performances provide for more emotional acting than videogame players are used to, though a few of the voiceover impressions, particularly that of Princess Leia, are off the mark.
