About this game

Front Mission 1st: Remake is a turn-based strategy game developed by Forever Entertainment S. A., and Square Enix this particular version of the game is a remaster of the first game in the franchise first released in 1995 for the Super Famicom.

• During the year 2090 global conflict is now fought with giant machines called Wanzers. Two particular nations are fighting for control over Huffman Island the Oceania Cooperative Union (O.C.U.) and the Unified Continental States (U.C.S.).
• Step into the shoes of Captain Royd Clive as he is assigned to investigate the whereabouts of a U.C.S. munitions plant but even before they could report back, they were ambushed by UCS forces plunging the entire island into war.
• Many years later, you have been discharged from the military but the sight of the ambush is still fresh in your mind, you must try to find out what happened to Karen a former squad member, and uncover a conspiracy that involves the powers at be that orchestrated it.

Regardless of how essential Forever Entertainment’s updated Front Mission 1st Remake update is, the game itself is a classic. It’s wonderful that it’s now available on a modern platform and that the developers have sparked their own revival for a series that has been mostly dormant for over a decade (Left Alive? Never heard of it). With one game down, it’s easy to look forward to the eventual remakes of Front Mission 2 and 3 and, hopefully, even more, to come after those with Forever Entertainment in the cockpit.

This feature will return next quarter when I want to cover a few more games I missed during their launch windows because of a lack of time or late codes. As you can see from the games featured here, even some of the smaller games in the last few months have been well worth checking out.
