⭐ MAW GAMING – DYING LIGHT: THE BEAST (4.0⭐) Solid gameplay and world design deliver an engaging loop, supported by stable performance. Visuals and audio are effective but not standout. Systems and co-op mechanics provide replay value without pushing boundaries. A reliable experience that maintains momentum, especially when played cooperatively.
Dying Light: The Beast is the kind of follow-up that makes the series click again: parkour is snappy, the nights bring back that real tension, and the combat has a nice mix of weight and chaos (especially when you lean into the more brutal options), seems they listened to the gaming community. Co-op also keeps it lively without turning everything into a joke, so it’s easy to jump in “for a bit” and end up staying longer than planned.
For fans of the previous Dying Light games, this one is a no-brainer, but completely understandable if you're waiting for an even deeper discount. For first-timers to the series, I'd recommend starting in Dying Light 1, as this one is a continuation of the main protagonist's story. The new map with its mountains and building architecture looks beautiful, the traversal and combat also seems better than ever, won't be much longer before I immerse myself in this universe.
The Beast is truly compelling, let's be clear about that. It has a few weaknesses, a somewhat predictable storyline, and classic gunfights. But the melee combat is excellent, as are the associated dismemberments. The nights are terrifying, and playing in complete darkness with a high-contrast screen will enhance this effect... As for the parkour: freedom, diversity, efficiency—it's excellent. In many ways, the game is a success.
Dying Light the Beast, the Dying Light 2 DLC made standalone game runs very fine, a surprise for nowadays AAA releases and also brings back the more weighty parkour and combat from 1st entry all decorated with lots of blood, dismemberments and gore. The best zombie game is back with a new open world setting to explore, the Kyle Crane that we know, lots of weapons, melee and firearms, and even vehicles, all the tools we need to slain zombies, that is what we love.
